Dear Colegio Americano de Torreón Community,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year and introduce myself as your new Middle and High School Principal. Going into my third year at Colegio Americano de Torreón (CAT), I feel both honored and blessed to have this opportunity to continue serving the CAT community.

For the past two years, I have served as the Secondary Curriculum Coordinator here at CAT. During this time, I have enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside our talented students and teachers in an effort to provide a high quality teaching and learning experience for all. Prior to my arrival in Torreón, I spent 12 years serving school communities in Colombia, Brazil and Mexico as a Middle School Math and Science Teacher, as well as a Math Coordinator at schools in Colombia and Mexico. Through these experiences, I have sought to experience and understand local cultures, and have developed an appreciation for the uniqueness of the different cultures, communities and peoples that have embraced me over the past 14 years.

As we enter this new school year, I look forward to working alongside our dedicated teachers, counselors, library and support staff to provide a safe, caring and nourishing environment for our students. My goal is to create a culture of hard work and respect for the Teaching and Learning process while providing opportunities for both students and staff to explore their desired areas of professional and personal growth. The personal wellbeing of all members of the CAT community is my greatest priority. Therefore, we will intentionally seek to provide wellness opportunities that focus on finding and developing a healthy work-life balance.

Colegio Americano de Torreón has a proud tradition of offering the highest quality education experience in the region and my goal is to continue working to ensure that we live up to that tradition every single day. It is important that CAT Pride permeates the whole community and that can only happen if parents, administrators, teachers and students are communicating and working together to make the CAT experience the best it can be. My promise to you is that I will keep my eyes and ears open to the community and I will honor and value the voice of all community members.

Once again, it is with much excitement that I welcome you to another year at Colegio Americano de Torreón and I look forward to this opportunity to deepen my impact on the CAT community through my service as your Middle and High School Principal. I look forward to meeting you all, so please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas you would like to share.

Respectfully,

Mark Osborn

MSHS Principal
